On that day, Donna Lochmann of Stray Rescue of St. Louis received a call saying that there is a black-and-white do walking near a highway entrance. He was at a risk, and even with the cold weather it was not a safer place for a dog.
When she got there, Lochmann found that the pup was cold and afraid. He was huddled up against a chain-linked fence. The rescuer had to be quick to rescue him. She walked towards the dog carefully assessing his reaction and was surprised to see that he was just happy to see her as she was!
He was a really friendly dog. Instead of running away the dog inched his head forward and started to sniff Lochmann. When he realized that he is finally safe with her, he rolled over for a belly rub from the rescuer. He was shivering but his tail was waging for Lochmann with delight. Lochmann showered him with cuddles before they got into the jeep. He was a sweet dog. Lochmann decided to name him with the inspiration of semi-trailer trucks driving past them, Peterbilt.
The rescuer is not sure about how he ended up in there but could tell by his reaction that he was used to human interaction. Somebody had this cuddly dog but seems that didn’t take good care of.
He was in good health and luckily was officially ready to go to a foster home. Before he leaves the Stray Rescue of St. Louis he didn’t forget to kiss every member of the staff and say goodbye. Then he headed to his new family.
Peterbilt currently lives with his foster family and is looking for the perfect home to live in forever. He loves to take naps in his bed and he loves to go on walks too.
Lochmann is sure that with his loving personality, he would find a forever family soon. She says that he will do great as somebody’s family member.
