Five years ago, Gerardo Ortiz had an unexpected customer in his restaurant. It was a stray dog. she was so sad and hungry in her eyes. He took a look at the poor dog. He decided to help her out. She was sitting outside patiently. Gerardo offered her a free meal that is specially made for her.
Since then, it continues. Each evening after she received her first meal the hungry dog continued to return and eat a free meal from Gerardo’s restaurant. Not only her there were her friends who paid a visit to Ajilalo too. Gerardo didn’t know that the word that he was feeding stray pups had spread far and wide within the local area.
More dogs began to arrive with that first visit. And Gerardo welcomed them all with a tasty meal. Nowadays, multiple stray dogs visit the doors of Ajilalo each night to receive a free meal.
Most of the dogs are regular customers now. Others are first-timers with the hope that Gerardo’s food will fill their bellies with his amazing foods.
When Gerardo is in his restaurant he looks up and see’s a new dog’s new face and the front of his store, waiting to see if the rumors are true about his generosity. They do not pay him with money. All he got is his peace of mind and their happy faces with wagging tails.
