Husband and wife Matt and Jody Perry had a son named Finlay but longed to have a daughter as well.
Jody became pregnant again, and the couple discovered they were expecting twins. The joyful family eagerly awaited the arrival of the babies.
Though Jody’s delivery was premature, it proceeded smoothly, and as the doctors had predicted, two adorable twins were born.
During the examination, the doctor surprised the delighted parents with the words, “I am not surprised.”
It soon became clear that Jody couldn’t feel the typical joy mothers experience after the birth of their children.
The charming twins were born with Down syndrome and other health issues.
At that time, the parents didn’t know if their daughters would be able to speak, attend school, or have friends.
Six years passed since the day the doctor doubted the girls’ chances of survival.
But now, Jody proudly declares that if she could meet that doctor again, she would tell him not to doubt, as the birth of their twins was the best thing that ever happened to them.
