Dogs and cats together are normally fighting each other but rarely can be friends. When Colleen Harrison and her family adopted a little kitten named Casper they were not sure about how their dogs would react to it. Normally their pittie Minnie is the one who loves caring for little animals. But their other dog named Rex met fell in love at the first sight with Casper.
Rex is younger than Minnie and loves to play all day. He and Casper have very similar energy. They love to roof around and snuggle together. At first, Rex was not too excited when anyone else tried to play with the new kitten.
He didn’t like anyone coming near Casper. He was very protective of him. He acts the same way with the children in the family. When the kitten or kids are out of his sight, or in another room, he just sits close by whining for them.
Sometimes, while Rex and Casper were snuggled up together he would try to hide his kitten from the rest of the family! But, sadly Casper is a little too wiggly to stay hidden for long. He loves Casper so much that he didn’t want to share him with anyone else. Now he is slowly warming up to the idea.
Harrison says that Rex doesn’t mind others holding or playing with the kitten now. But he does keep an eye on him all the time.
Now they are happily watching their best friends growing up together.
