Shauna Halstad admits that her dog is a scaredy-cat!
Flynn is a 100-pound Bernese mountain dog/ Newfoundland mix. He is afraid of the seemingly endless. He hates boxes, the dark, bags, Shauna’s toothless cat, and clawless rescue. Even he is pretty much afraid of his own shadow.
But there’s only one thing that could help him face his fears. That was his precious blanket. For nearly a year and a half, Flynn’s fuzzy blanket has gone everywhere with him. When she first bought it, she never thought that her dog would grow so attached to it. She got it from the dollar store for cleaning his paws.
She had to go back and buy more. Whenever he wakes up, he drags it all over the house and the backyard. It may only be a piece of cloth to us but to him, it is so much more!
It comforts the fearful dog and helps him be brave enough to face the great outdoors. He may be bigger than the rabbits and the squirrels in the backyard, but Flynn is terrified of them. The blanket helps him get up the courage to set his paw in the grass.
He protests having to walk without his blanket. He likes to hoard them in a pile.
He also loves his family and his little dog brothers. He is an expert in cuddling. Whenever someone needs a little comfort, Flynn is there.
He brings so much joy to his family. They are so glad that their furry friend found something that makes him feel good.
Halstad said that life with him is not boring! He is an old happy soul living in a puppy body. He taught them that sometimes it is better to be slow and enjoy the moment.
