Pitbull left in a Parking Lot with only her dog bed

Bluebelle was a senior pitbull who was left alone in an empty parking lot in Austin, Texas. She only had her dog bed to separate her from the hot pavement while she patiently waited for someone to notice her.

When the animal protection service officers finally came for her, she looked up at them with the saddest and the sweetest eyes, and accepted treats from their hands gratefully.

In an interview, the marketing and volunteer coordinator at the Austin Animal Center, Stephanie McCutcheon had this to say about Bluebelle: “You could tell how grateful Bluebelle was to be rescued and brought to the shelter. Bluebelle drank a lot of water upon arriving and slept a lot in the air-conditioned comfort of her bed the first couple days.”

At the Austin Animal Center, this pitbull with the sweetest disposition, is thought to be 9-years-old, is getting all the care she needs. She had missing fur and raw red skin when the center workers found her, which was due to demodex mange, which is an infestation of skin mites. She is also being treated for conjunctivitis in both eyes. However, the senior dog doesn’t let this dampen her spirit.

McCutcheon also added: “Besides all the health issues, she is in happy spirits. She has the cutest little smile and even a little pep in her step. We have wonderful Animal Care staff and Vets that have been taking close care of her.” What the shelter staff was most certain was that Bluebelle would be vastly comfortable in a home, and soon enough she found a foster family willing to take her in, due to her winning personality.

In her interview, McCutcheon also had this to say: “Despite looking in rough shape, her heart is still full and she is extremely welcoming of humans. She recently had a meet-and-greet with a foster family and their dog, and it went well so Bluebelle will be leaving the shelter soon!”

When her health issues have been fixed, this sweet tempered pitbull starts her search for a forever home and family who will love her and treasure her for the rest of her years. However, until that day arrives, she is happy to have a roof over her head, and her beloved dog bed and a comfortable place to relax and rest.
