Actress Sandra Bullock has suffered a profound loss with the passing of her long-time partner, Bryan Randall, who succumbed to ALS after a courageous three-year battle. Randall’s family announced his death, stating, “With deep sadness, we report that Bryan Randall peacefully passed away on August 5th, after a brave fight against ALS.”
They added, “Bryan chose to keep his battle private, and we honored his decision. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated medical professionals and exceptional nurses who supported us throughout this journey. During this difficult time, we ask for privacy as we grieve the loss of Bryan.”
Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, paid a heartfelt tribute to Randall on Instagram, sharing details of Bullock’s final moments with her partner. Gesine wrote, “I believe Bryan has found the perfect fishing spot in heaven and is now enjoying the best of nature.” She shared a photo of Randall and reflected on the care he received, noting, “ALS is a cruel disease, but Bryan was surrounded by the best care from my sister and a dedicated team of nurses. Rest peacefully, Bryan.”
Bullock and Randall’s relationship began in January 2015 when he was hired as a photographer for her son’s birthday. They quickly became a couple and made their red carpet debut soon after. Bullock, known for her privacy, previously described Randall as the “love of [her] life” during a Red Table Talk appearance.
She also spoke about her blended family, expressing a desire for their skin tones to match to avoid unwanted attention. Bullock shared, “I wish our skins matched sometimes, as it would make things easier.” She praised Randall for his role as a father figure to her adopted children, saying he set the example she hoped for them to follow.

A source revealed Randall’s dedication to Bullock and her children, noting, “The kids have called Bryan ‘Daddy’ for as long as I can remember, and it still makes him smile.”
Bullock and Randall chose not to marry, focusing instead on their family priorities. “I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and mother,” Bullock stated. “I am committed to weathering life’s storms with a good man.”
Bullock has not yet publicly addressed Randall’s passing. His family has requested donations to the ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital in his memory.
