Leroy lived at Dog Tales Rescue for over seven years. That is over half of the 12-year-old shepherd mix’s life without a forever home. Luckily the volunteers of the rescue give every pup the chance to break free if there’s only a fun weekend away.
Recently it was Leroy’s turn. It is a weekend he won’t forget soon.
Stephani Munro of Dog tales Rescue volunteer says that the rescue has got offered a waterfront property with a cottage. They used to bring shelter dogs there for a break from shelter life. This is a wonderful opportunity for the dogs to see how they truly are in a home environment. It is heartwarming to see them enjoying their real dog life!
Munro and Leroy spent time enjoying the scenery, eating good food and sniffing everything. The gateway also marks the first time Leroy had a bed of his very own.
After the fun weekend away Leroy adjusted back to his rescue life. He came to the shelter in Miami in 2015. He is quite laid back. He does enjoy the occasional game of fetch. Food is also one of his favorite things. One of his favorite tricks is giving his paw. He enjoys occasional head and neck scratches too.
Munro says that they are looking for an adopter who recognizes his needs and boundaries. Munro also added that adopting this sweet boy means multiple visits to Dog Tales to be sure it is a good match.
After spending so much joy at the cottage Leroy would love to find his forever family. So that he can enjoy the scenery, eat good food and sniff everything with his favorite people.
