Separately Adopted Siblings Need Each Other for Comfort

When you have someone by your side to lean on for support, it’s much easier to go through tough times. This couldn’t be truer for these two rescue pups named Pasta and Pepsi. They were left in a neighborhood which was unknown to them, and they relied on each other physically for comfort and warmth. In an interview, the founder of Logan’s Legacy Suzette Hall had this to say: “The neighbors told me that they would literally lay on top of each other at night to sleep.”

She received the message about the pups several days after they were left in the neighborhood. The residents stated that they never strayed from the spot they were seen, and they waited huddled together, and the residents presumed that it’s the place they were dumped. Hall also said: “I decided, ‘OK, I’m just gonna go, but there’s no way these dogs are still there.’ [But] I pulled up and there they were, waiting.”

When she saw the two pups, the woman noted that they both were skittish and matted. She quickly trapped one dog, but the other took much longer to catch, and Hall says: “I’ll stay all night if I have to, and I’ll never leave one behind if there’s two.” Since she had already trapped the first pup, to coax the second pup, she put the first dog in a crate, and then placed it right behind the humane trap. This seemed to do the trick, as two hours after the first pup was rescued the second one was also caught. On the way home with the two dogs in separate crates, Hall noticed that both dogs were extremely distressed by being apart.

Hall goes on to say: “They were trying to get to each other. I could just tell that they needed each other.” As soon as the woman noticed this, she pulled over and got each dog out of their respective crates and put them both in the front seat of the car together. It took only a few seconds for Pasta and Pepsi to curl up on top of each other, as the neighbors had reported them, while waiting for their owners. Finally, Hall says: “You can’t even imagine the wagging of the tails when I was getting them out. They couldn’t get to each other fast enough.”

Due to the close bond between Pasta and Pepsi, the duo has been together throughout the recovery process. They pair are currently at the vet, being treated for all their illnesses and ailments, and once both are fully recovered, they will be put into foster care together. The duo will be adopted into a single home as a package deal, after foster care. In their forever home, they would be able to cuddle as much as they choose, surrounded with all the love that they deserve.
