Shelter dog obsessed with a sloth plushie won’t go anywhere without him

Jane is a lovely 6-year-old collie mix who has had a challenging life from the very beginning. She was born in 2017, as a stray and was rescued with her mom and siblings by the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana (HSNWLA). She was just a few hours after her birth when they rescued her.

She received a ton of love and care from the HSNWLA team. After a few months at the rescue, she was growing healthy and ready to be adopted.

She was adopted as a puppy in May of 2017. Her family loved her very much. Her new family welcomed the little puppy into their home. They were excited to spend forever with her. But eventually, they realized that Jane was not as much comfortable as they hoped she would be. She didn’t like the small dogs in the home. Her new family tried for years to keep going, but there was no change happen. Finally, they made the decision to bring her back to the rescue, to find her a more suited home at the beginning of 2022.

Jane’s new life at the shelter was a huge change. She had to adjust to being in the shelter back. It is kind of hard for a dog who lived in a comfy home for years. However, Jane’s friends at HSNWLA knew that their beloved friend is experiencing a hard time. So, they decided to do everything to make her feel comfortable and loved again.

She went for car rides, field trips, and sleepovers with the volunteers but no one seemed interested in adopting her. But over time, she got more love from HSNWLA volunteers. She was happy with their belly rubs, kisses and the stuffed animals in the office.

Another thing that made her happy was the plush toys in the office. She was obsessed with the plush toys in the office. As she got a lot of plush toys in the office, she refused to go anywhere without them.
Among them, her sloth became her favourite toy.

Jane ended up spending an entire year in HSNWLA after her family returned her, but she was under a lot of care from the volunteers. And also, with her comfortable plush toys by her side.

Sarrah Walton, a longtime volunteer at HSNWLA told that Jane loves her baby sloth plush toy very much and keeps that near her always. She knew that everyone loves her.

A year after she was initially returned, Jane was lucky enough to be adopted again by a loving couple. Sarah and Justin were the couple and they were so happy to take their new member home. Jane’s friends at HSNWLA sent her off with a loving celebratory goodbye and made sure to pack her favourite sloth toy, and her sloth blanket made by a volunteer. So, she can keep her lovely toys around her forever.

They are blessed to have found her!
