The cat cafe Lviv has been open in Lviv, Ukraine for over six years. It has come to mean a lot to everyone who is involved with it. Serhii Oliinyk is the owner of the Cat-cafe Lviv. A small team of several close people are working there for several years. Even the cats are getting used to them. They take care of them and play with them because the cat residents love people’s attention.
The cafe is home to 20 cats, who love to greet their visitors. They hang out with the visitors while they enjoy a meal or just relax. People visit there to forget the stresses of life so they can play with cats who are always happy to see them.
Many Ukrainians are currently fleeing the country in light of the Russian invasion. But not Oiinyk. He stays with his family at the cafe.
The cats have been living in the cat cafe since they are 4 months of age. They are like family and they are not ready to leave the country. He says that it is the only place where they could see their selves in the future.
Despite the invasion, the cat cafe has decided to still open. They will continue to provide a safe place for people to stop and say hi to the cats which is something they need these days more than ever.
They have a few regular visitors. And also they have three large rooms, two of which are located in the basement, so in case of an air raid warning they have safe shelters for guests and cats.
No matter what Oiinyk and his family will never leave their cats.
