Princess Charlotte, the only daughter of Kate and William, stands third in line to the throne. Despite her position in the royal succession, experts suggest that she may not take on the role of a working royal and instead might need to pursue a career outside of royal duties. This aligns with her grandfather, King Charles III’s, goal to streamline the monarchy.
“From what I’ve gathered, the Prince and Princess of Wales want Charlotte, who is seven years old, to grow up expecting to find a job and not be a full-time royal,” royal expert Richard Eden shared with the Mirror.
“This direction for young Princess Charlotte fits well with King Charles III’s vision of a leaner monarchy.”
Charlotte is a remarkable young girl, with her vibrant personality becoming more apparent. She, along with her two brothers, attends the prestigious Lambrook School, known for offering a variety of activities, including animal care and sports like cricket, rugby, football, and golf.
One of Charlotte’s favorite pastimes is soccer. Last year, she joined her parents at the Commonwealth Games and later visited the SportsAid House charity, where Kate has been a patron since 2013. Tim Lawler, the charity’s chief executive, disclosed Charlotte’s enthusiasm for gymnastics.
“She was captivated by the swimming events, but she also has a keen interest in gymnastics,” he noted. “When asked about her favorite sport, she quickly responded with ‘gymnastics.’”
The Princess of Wales added, “Charlotte is really passionate about gymnastics, doing cartwheels, handstands, and more. It’s great for developing their balance and coordination.”
William chimed in, saying, “And it’s beneficial for their flexibility and long-term health. We recently watched Cirque du Soleil, and it was fantastic.”
Regarding their parenting approach, a source revealed that Kate and William avoid using the “naughty step” and prefer a “chat sofa” where they calmly discuss issues with their children, avoiding any form of shouting.
“If one of the children acts up, Kate or William calmly explains the situation and outlines the consequences,” the source explained. “Raising their voices is strictly prohibited, and any shouting is addressed by removing the children from the situation.”
Additionally, Kate and William emphasize the importance of understanding and accepting defeat, especially in sports and life.
“Learning to handle losing is crucial nowadays,” William stated. “I want my children to understand the value of losing gracefully and growing from those experiences.”
He believes that these lessons are vital for building friendships, relationships, and workplace skills, starting from early childhood experiences in team sports.
When it comes to food, the royal children do not consume packaged meals. Instead, they enjoy fresh, healthy meals and are expected to eat whatever is served without complaints.
“There are no tantrums or food throwing. The children eat what’s given to them and queue up like everyone else,” an insider told The Sun regarding the family’s visit to the exclusive Hurlingham Club in London.
The days of George, Charlotte, and Louis are filled with outdoor activities, and their use of gadgets is limited.
“William and Kate, having grown up without electronic gadgets, believe in traditional toys, outdoor play, and fostering an active imagination,” a source told Us Weekly.
Kate and William strive to provide their children with a normal upbringing, as much as possible within the royal context.
